Re: 58' Karmann
Floorpan needs a bit of work. Previous owner fibrglassed it and moisture got in
Gearbox is ready though! (Came from the other Karmann which we bought a while before this 1) A 1600 dual port engine will be going in.
Stil have to cut the bottom of the engine bay a bit larger to fit it.

A few more pics
Quite a few bad rust spots Bracing inserted in the door frame to keep it from bending when he rotate it. (We built a stand that bolts into the bumper slots so the whole body can be rotated 360 deg) The doors

Welcome to the forum dude. That rust is rather scary, glad to see that guys are restoring cars that need so much work.
That Orange will look rad on your car, I'm thinking of spraying the Fastback Porsche GT3 Orange

Re: 58' Karmann
Most of the rust isn't that bad. Just surface rust. But there are a few places rusted completely through. We have to weld in new panels below the doors. The previous owner apparntly got seriously ill halfway through restoration. They painted part off the body with a brush just to try and stop the rust. Thats why it's so multi-coloured. It will go to the sandblasters in the next few weeks. Then we'll see how bad things are. The boot lid, front lid and doors are going to the sandblasters tomorrow (hopefully)

It's nice to see locals working with what they have and bringing it around. A few years ago, this would have been scrapped.
