This is a 1968 Electric Beetle, which was converted to operate on 100% electric power in 1979. It has 16,000 EV miles. The cost of charging the batteries is 2 cents per mile. It has a 120/240 Volt built in charger. Top speed 65 MPH, range 60 miles. Maximum acceleration power is 72,000 Watts, which produce 61 HP.

Talk to people with experience converting many types of VW's to operate on 100% electric power. This list is for everyone with an interest in electric Volkswagen conversions. Turn your VW in to a great Electric Vehicle. The Electric Volkswagen Discussion List

See how you can convert a Beetle to run on electric power.

Now you have a choice, VICTIM at the pump or VoltsWagon.
Last month I drove 485 miles, the cost of charging was $9.70.

Wonder how long does it take to recharge? Must be weird seeing a Bug go by without that familiar prrrrrt-prrrrrrt noise....
