My father and I were looking at a bug for sale yesterday and everything seemed 100% except for the fact that the engine had been rebuilt, so the vin number on the block didn’t match the one on floor pan.
The seller is a friend of my uncle and states that they’ve been struggling to get police clearance on the mismatched numbers for a while now which is most likely one of the main reasons for selling it…
This (according to my dad at least) is an extreme deal breaker. If anyone has any insight as to how we’d go about getting proper clearance do let us know. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
