Thank you Hans and Herman.
I will get an appropriate sealer and go ahead...

Re: Pan Bent?
I never use sealer on gaskets. Makes for a nightmare when taking them off and replacing them.
If you must use something on paper gaskets, use engine oil, this will help them settle and also allow them to pop off without leaving massive work behind

Re: Pan Bent?
Tony, what is your view on putting a thin layer of sealant between the barrel and case, instead of those paper gaskets?

Re: Pan Bent?
I use the paper gaskets to set deckheight, or remove them if needed and only use sealant. This is determined during engine mockup

Re: Pan Bent?
A question I have is that I got the steel gaskets but I have seen a lot of the paper ones too. Which ones are best for inlet manifold?

I use the steel ones whenever I can.

Re: Pan Bent?
I read somewhere that you need metal gaskets for heat transfer from cylinder head to manifold for atomizing of the fuel mixture.

Re: Pan Bent?
Hi Guys. So I installed the metal gaskets with no sealer and the rubbers in the manifold.
Set the timing to TDC and cranked it up.
This is the result...

I hope the links work.
I am finally ready to go have some fun before starting cosmetic stuff
