Hi Terry Thanks for the kind words.... no worries. To be frank, that motor does not owe me too much... a bit hard to believe if I actually tell you, but since I bought the engine from Dave Rowley about 9 years ago. (case still un-split)
1641 cc engine with 87 mm AA piston kit, balanced sub assembly, Weber twin 36 IDF's. Serpentine Belt kit, MSD ignition system, 36hp fan shroud with alternator upgrade etc, it owes me just under R10k in parts and engine purchase price..... yes a lot of horse trading involved.
When I do have the inclination to split the case, the Engle W110 cam will go in, new HD oil pump, 1:25 High Ratio rockers and shafts, Hi rev single valve springs, new Stainless steel over size valves, manifolds / heads ported and polished, oil breather box, and vented ally valve covers etc.
All sitting on the rack in my garage waiting their turn... I cant remember what I paid, as most of it was horse traded or swapped, or snapped up as bargains.
Reliability is very good, as its not a very big bore motor by any means... it gets my big ass off the line quite quickly, and when it serves as our family camper, it goes very well up mountain passes, having to only gear down to 3rd at times.
Fuel wise, it gets me 10 /14 km p/l for city and long distance driving respectively. The 36 IDF's (rejetted) deliver smooth pull aways all the time and make a difference on the bus for sure. If you did not hear the carbs opening up between gear changes, you would not even know that it was changed from stock.

Looking forward to Introducing Winston to her.
Thanks Alan... actually the paint and body work looks much better in the pics, and is no where as good as Winstons.
IM happy with the interior though, and bits and pieces I added, as well as the Rubber seal kit.
mains 120
air correction 175. Will change to 190 soon as it has a very small stutter during acceleration still. nothing major though
idles 50 ...used to be 45mm when motor was 1600 cc.
