Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Re: 1978 Westfalia Helsinki
Yes,the cooker hinges up into the cupboard so you can walk through, the outside is a two tone green/white original colours.
It has been resprayed before i bought it but Its not the best sprayjob. Now that ive done the motor the next project is the rust and get a proper respray done in the original colours.
I will get the bumpers powder coated, all new door/window rubbers etc.
I have a new tent for the pop top.
Interior is amazingly scratch free but the carpet is a bit stained so i will be fitting wooden flooring and new Madmatz carpet up front.
I have fitted later style seats with headrests which will be recovered in the Westy plaid.
Before i fit all the interior parts in I will be doing sound proofing too and running new wires for speakers.
It has the Original plastic double glazed windows which are really good at stopping condensation.
It too has the Truma gas heater which is good for early/late summer camping.
Basically im going for a really no holds barred refurb.
It lives in my double garage which has under floor heating so it will be kept dry.
The thing im most looking at is polishing it when its been resprayed,im quite the mamba at polishing!

If you look at the second pic past the fridge you can see the cooker in its stored position, looks just like a cupboard. Its really clever.Tony Z wrote:interesting colours...
