I have made some progress on my Kombi. Here are some pictures of the rear bumper that I welded up. At least the previous guy was thoughtful and bent the metal over. I still need to shape it a bit but at least I'm slowly getting there.

It has been a while since I last updated this tread. Unfortunately not much work has been done, seeing that I needed to get two other projects out the way first. I am very close to jumping on the Kombi project again. Here is a picture I took yesterday of my two favourite people.

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Started working on my bus again. Hopefully this time without too many interruptions. I cut some cancer out. Believe it or not, there was a time where these busses weren't worth much and restorers and owners could not care about the standard of the restoration. I guess even today some restorers don't take pride in their work. Any case here are some pictures of some previous patch jobs.

Maybe Porsche will allow you to take the old split once complete to have a picture taken at high speed on their staight like the "ooms" use to do it?

HAhaha Like Werner Alker did back in the day with his '57. I'm sure I can arrange that.

I have a pic of that Kombi and Wernher Alker in action on the race track somewhere from all those years ago ....

What are you going to do there Wernher - new replacement panels ? Or make your own ?
