Looks really good Firebird. Good choice on colour, something different but correct. To many silver cars around, so this one will stand out. Good luck with the rest of the project.

Very nice. Green with Envy..
I'm currently looking for one for myself, they're all hiding away it seems.

Re: 1958 356A Speedster Replica
Here are some pics from a few days ago when Harry Jones and I went to go check on my car. The guys have since finished putting on the rest of the shiny bits.
I received a call this afternoon to say that my car was ready for collection and after arranging everything (drop me off, drive car back etc.) I found that the car was not ready, no biggie, I am not 6, I can handle it. I think.
There is still an issue with the brakes not having enough pressure even after bleeding the brakes etc. The brake pedal can still be pressed to the floor with ease. Anyway, that, and the rain storm brewing outside made me decide to call the collection off for the day since I had planned to drive the car back not trailer it.
Oh, and there is now a scratch on the front of the car, yes, in the new paint. Garth did say he would sort it out though, but still... and scratch, about 30cm long... nice how?... why ?
...Also and my tail lights are now bubbled cause the electrician or some other brain surgeon left the driving lights on while sorting out the wiring... so much for the LED lights I have lined up... too little too late.
The vinyl on the passenger side door card is torn at the front in such a way that is can't really be polished or patched and will no doubt need replacing. The same is probably true of my seats... the hand made seats you may recall from earlier posts. The bumper trim is also scratched from kicking around the workshop (I found it inside another car!!??) so that is going to need a lot of Autosol and elbow grease. So I am a little psyched down right now
On the plus side at least I have a shiny new windscreen, right ?

Re: 1958 356A Speedster Replica
Hi Roger,
Car's looking good, a few teething problems, but it will sort itself out..
I'm awaiting on a pair of rear lenses which I'm going to be molding, and then attempting to replicate with tinted liquid clear resin technology. My lenses are also bubbled\melted, and I can't agree with Local, or International pricing.. So, keep in touch, I've got a thread on my 356 going, as soon as I've hopefully made a lense or two, I'll be able to sell you a replacement pair ok.
regards
Alan

Re: 1958 356A Speedster Replica
Alan, when you make a set for me, send up another for Roger in the same batch and I'll cover the costs.
You going for Euro's or US spec?

Re: 1958 356A Speedster Replica
Ahhh, THIS is Roger..
The Bulb finally went off..
I think US Spec is easy, but I want to do Euro Spec.. I've worked out how I will do that, essentially to cut a US Spec in half, then add it back into the Mold, and pour Orange which will apparently re"gel" to the already done Stop section.. I'll test it and see. Pls send down that parcel soonest mate as I have time in December to do the testing and R&D..

Shot..
So, is it really only the 3 of us active on here? Who owns saspeedsters website? and is that active?
I believe this resin product is pretty good, and possibly I'll be able to do stuff for the old beetles as well if required.. So let's see. Will await your lenses and have a mold done in the next few days..
cheers

Re: 1958 356A Speedster Replica
I think that there are 5 of us on here.
Saspeedsters is Rabid Ant's website, he's around sometimes, but the site isn't active anymore, family commitments keep the man busy.
