Hi

Minor update (but allot of work).So I finnished al the metal work on the pan,wire wheeled the pan and then cleaned sanded and painted it with red oxide.
And before I painted the pan I lowered the rear torsion bars 1 notch :hangloose:

Tomorrow I'll seam seal all the necessary edges and paint it all in gloss black

It's a fantastic job, but I don't agree with what you've done with the hole in the tunnel. It looks tidy, but it is, in my opinion, not wise to hold together the car's structure with four pop rivets. You should have welded it closed for a stock repair. It is not needed at all to have a hole there (otherwise VW would have put one there). Putting the clutch cable on without the hole is very easy if you know how.

Best of luck further, it looks like it will be a very nice project.

seam sealed all the joints

In the sun drying for 2 days before final coat

Final coat on and in sun to dry.I used Glasurit Hochglanz schwarz(high gloss black) I think thats what the factory used back then

I had some of the bolts/fittings electroplated and assembled the beam with new poly seals

Next-do king and link pins,assemble pedal assembly,fit engine and gearbox

this is a real shame, you put tonnes of work into this and I really liked where it was going. Good luck with the sale though bud.
