I'll admit, I dont know much about these cars, but I thought the 1600s was swing axle and McPherson strut front end? While the 1303 was 4joint rear IRS?

the 1600S had the normal front suspension with kingpin linkpin setup & swing axle at the back, the 1303 has the McPherson struts & IRS @ the back, the bonnet, front apron & front fenders are different too.. (& obviously the inside of the boot area)
Hopefully I get a bonnet sorted, just waiting to hear back from Wernher..

Re: 1303 beetle
The front (bottom tip) was mangled up & repaired like crap by the PO, the outside looks cool but the inside is all wrinkled & I can put my hand in the boot while the bonnet is closed, my panelbeater recons he's not gonna be able to fix it, so I'm on the lookout for a new (good used) one..beetle786 wrote:whats wrong with your bonnet repaired mine with new sheet metal from a old beetle door.

Re: 1303 beetle
I Know Charles well, is this the bonnet off of the white beetle in the yard? if it is then it won't fit 'cause that's a 1302 not a 1303, if it's a diffirent bonnet then I must go speak to him..beetle786 wrote:volkspares in jetpark has a bonnet speak to Charles i think they want about R2200 or some thing like that was a bit too much for me .my bonnet only the front lip was rusted replaced that portion and added a 8mm round bar on the inner part to make it ridgid .will post some pics .

Re: 1303 beetle
yes the one in the yard actually rui (calooker) told me about the beetle he said it was a 1303 .I myself didn't see the beetle because i'm in Tzaneen limpopo.Charles didn't say it was a 1302 ,i asked if it was a 1303 in the yard and he said yes and the badge was gone .anyway i need the cover inside the bonnet area that fits over the wiper motor and drainage hole will it fit on my 1303 .does a fan blower or some thing come inside that little area where the wiper motor is .if you pass by there anytime you get a chance will you be able to see if it's the same and the blower fan is still there mine is missing .and how much for it please.
thanks .
thanks .

Re: 1303 beetle
send me a message with the price if you can with the price 0835317506
the cover and the small piece that fits on the fuse box cover or maybe if you have any other parts i might need.
just missing these .blower i can make a plan from a golf maybe .small piece fuse box cover i can make out of abs plastic if i cant get that ,not a problem .thats the last part to worry about now .still a long way to go till we get there .but better to have original parts though.
only if it's not any trouble to you in anyway ,don't want to inconvenience you . no hurry what so ever .
the little things count .
thanks .

Re: 1303 beetle
As far as I know the blower cover is not the same, the fan/blower is gonna be a b@tch to find, the common ones are all for the LHD models, there's not really anybody that does RHD fan/blower units and the Golf one to my knowledge is not the same, mine doesn't work and I've sorta given up hope of getting it to work without modification.
