Was in Stellenbosch yesterday and heard a very strange sound
Saw a Beach buggy driving towards me and as it passed there was a fat silver cylinder where the motor should be!
Made a very strange sound, kinda like a Golf cart on steroids!
Was too busy holding my jaw so could not take a pic!
Anyone know anything about the mystery Electric Buggy?

Is that not a University project "AIR" car. ??
A lot of experimenting is taking place with High Pressure Air, and Chemical air generation......
Electric motor should have battery's, .....or very long extension cord......

Hi Paul,
Think it is a Electric motor, as they are big and round, and go into the motors space.
Was only pulling socks on the extension thing.......
Maybe we make it your mission to get more info & Photo's, as you are our Stellenbosch representative.

The air power thing might explain the strange sound it was making!
But then again without an aircooled motor in the back I guess there are lots of other sounds the car makes that you never hear!
