what does this mean Stuts ?

It
DOESN'T mean I am exporting my van for sale!!!!!!
I am toying with the idea of shipping it out to the UK for a full resto. That might sound rediculous however lets look at it from a financial, tax, duties and mechanical perspective as well as what it is that I personally want to achieve with the van. Remember, I am
not buying and fixing to sell. I am buying to keep and pass on to my family. My cars will all be held in a family trust and will not be able to be sold. I am therefore intending to rule from the grave as it were.
That being the case, I do not feel that a restoration to the level that I want is achievable in S.A. To date I have not seen or heard of any work from a local shop that will bring the bus back to a condition that I have in mind for it. I do however know that in a country that is besotted with these vehicles, and which furthermore already has all the parts I need right there, that I will get the van back the way I want it done.
I do not have the capability nor the skills level to do the work 'right' and I am certainly not going to learn on this car. Besides, due to the line of business that I am in, I will not have the luxury of making time to learn until I am retired at which time I will be too old to really enjoy my cars. I don't want to create museum pieces or own a car hidden under a cloth cover in a garage somewhere waiting for me to die before it moves on again. I want to drive them now. I want my boys to drive them. I want my grandkids to drive them one day.
Certainly, the costs may be prohibitive and that is also why I say that I am merely toying with the idea. I am in contact with some very well documented and highly respected companies in the UK and depeding on what is said a final decision will be made.
I'm sorry if what I have in mind irks some folks here but each to their own I suppose??!!.
