It is interesting to note that the air intake "snorkel" in the ad is fitted on the drivers side of the pick-up. On my pick-up it is fitted on the
passenger side :?:

Which side is your lower storage bin lid? I suspect the pic to be from the Brazilian sales literature (LHD). Unfortunately the little 'snippet' is all there was in the magazine, as well as the Deluxe Bay bit I posted elsewhere.

No, only the panel van, single cab (widebed version only) and Kombi

jolas,

I saw on bratjie's sc bay the snorkel goes inside the loading bay where the fleetline wide bed it goes outside all the way.

the cargo door/ Treasure chest door will not open fully(90 deg) if theres a 50mm pipe going above the hinges.

@ pine do you have more info/pictures of the fleetline add?
I found it very intresting. proudly south african! ;-)

Intresting re the snorkel and treasure chest hatch being on the same side. As Louis observed, that can't be. Ordinarily load doors (including treasure chest hatch) are on the opposite side to the driver. It seems they were too lazy to change it on RHD Fleetlines, so the bakkie treasure chest hatch is on the driver's side.

Also intersting from that snippet is that the last line seems to suggest Fleetlines did not get Brazilian engines, but VWSA-assembled engines, which is what I've always suspected.

Its perhaps why all fleetlines got the 12v alternator system

I agree - they were lazy in the cargo bay the only painted th 1st 1/4 to the original pain and the whole got lucky primerd.
