Thats quite a lot of progress, glad to hear that your bus passed the roadworthy test and is now registered - such an achievement when you pass that hurdle![]()

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Re: The Coombe's Combi - 1970 Bay
Well, we have had the Bus going for a few weeks now.
The engine is good - sounds great, powers good, no oil leaks
Consumption is getting better as the engine is run in.
My son took her for a trip up to Mozambique and back.
Three mates, some camping equipment, some food and off they went. Only two problems in 1000km of driving.
Firstly the wire to the coil from the switch snapped. Didn't take too long to troubleshoot or fix (Thanks to a kind passerby)
The second problem is probably a bit worse (horrible driving noises from the rear) and I will post an advice thread.
But they made it there and back, on time. What a pleasure.
Still lots to do on the bus but this will happen slowly over the next months. No new pics at present cause the work has been mainly mechanical. Will post more once the cosmetics starts.

Photos please or we don't believe you
Nice to see you bus was on a road trip
Hope you come right with the noise issue - not perhaps the release bearing on the gearbox ?
