My 68' bug
My 68" bug that i got in July 2010. it needed a bit of work but the body was rust free

Very nice. Please share the repair method. It would appear you did not respray the whole car. I assume the following:
- Find rust, and remove loose rust and flaking paint. Sanding and maybe soft wire brush for rough stuff.
- Kill rust with rust converter, allow oxide to be changed to more stable complex (black).
- Wipe converted areas with wet rag to remove any unreacted chemical.
- Spray filler/under coat over area.
- Flat with 2000 grit water paper.
- Wipe clean and spray with matched 2K paint .
- Use varying grades of burnishing compound and polish to blend the new paint to old.
