bay window bus 1975, etc, etc

Post by jolas »

Sean bought this bus without seeing it, it was a give-away price, he is happy with the 1800 gearbox and the fact that the motor runs, also a few other good spares like the sliding door bits and bobs. The bus itself is a rusted hulk. There were a couple of other "vehicles" parked in and around the yard.

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Thanks, my heart just missed a beat - cause that looks a helluva lot like an steel-bodied EMPI Sportster  - which dates back to the 60's and even pre-dates the fiberglass buggy. Scarce like hell, and VERY MUCH sought after...

Definitely a homemade attempt. Had a early bus gearbox with reduction boxes and a diesel engine in it.
