I have a spare 6v generator for the fasty, and was wondering if it could be rebuilt as an alternator, also 6v so I dont have to change all the components.... at least then the battery and everything would be able to stay....
Alternatively who can be recommended for a 12v conversion?

Re: 6v Generator to 6v Alternator
Hi
I have never heard of a 6v alternator not to say there are none but....
easiest way is to find the field coils of an industrial deutz generator old mercedes borgward etc and convert to 12v this can be done to your old 6v generator and the engine will still look stock
by getting a later 12v gennie and fan housing that can also be done.
I have also seen some jap alternators adapted as they are generally very small
