Will a356 windscreen fit on a 911 cabrio

Post by BARON »

Guys , (only ideas for now )
I m thinking of building a 911 speedster out of my cabriolet f/g body. The windscreen frame is damaged and needs repairs in any case.
You 356 & speedster fans do you think a 356 speedster or normal 356 windscreen and frame will fit on a 911 cabriolet, as the 911 stuff is not available in SA and very expensive.
I cant find a real 911 speedster to compare with a 356. All I know is that the rake angle is about 50 deg. as oppose to the cabriolet s 58deg

The 911 speedster screen may be a bit bigger but that is not the problem --its the shape on the dashboard area that worries me. The door windows can also be changed to accommodate the different angle.
Cheers baron

PS Doesnt that black one looks realy mean.

Replicars make their own surround and it is fairly simple I would look into the 1600s beetles windscreen also as the 356 has an odd hump in the middle which is not present on the 911 I can take some measurements if you want

Thanks Armand,
Iwill appreciate it even if I have to make a few changes. The Citroen screen some 911 kits uses does look out of porportion.
I found someone who can cut the glass although its a risky business ,but its the frame that causes the problem.

cheers baron
