bought this windshield for $50.
It is from a 1961 Healey Sprite.

I am mounting it directly to the cage trough home made brackets.

With the 2 halves of the hood in place you can se by how much I had to widen the front of the body.

Coming along very nicely, but it looks as if the front is wider than the rear. You don't seem to have cut the rear body parts.
Why do we celebrate the guy that invented the wheel??
Surely we must celebrate the guy tat invented the other three

That windshield fits it perfectly! Now store it away somewhere safe while you work on the rest of the buggy

I did some work on the hood.
First blend the vent in:

The vent is glue with epoxy, then I filled the gaps with bondo and glass on top for a crack free smooth surface.

I also started the suspension towers covers.
My wife was so nice and gave me an old Tuperware bowl.
Image
I filled it with fiberglass and resin.
Image
Let it dry and pulled the stuff out.
Image
Then cut in two pieces.
Image
first try fit.
Image
Ok that is better.

Glue with epoxy.

Glassed in.

It is not looking awesome but it will work for now.

What's that orange sticky-out bit in the front, and what are your plans with it?

Ha! It's a waste gate. It's a turbocharged engine.

yes, used to bypass exhaust gas past the turbo instead of through it

Yes it is a waste gate.
It opens to bypass the exhaust gas when the desired turbo boost is reached.
It is internal in most oem applications but becomes external when you use big aftermarket turbos.
I actually like the fact that it is sticking out.

Look at the wastegates on my engine:

I started the hood spoiler yesterday.

I cut the hood so it clears the wipers.
Image

Check the top curvature
Image

Fabricate some bracket to hold it in place
Image

And glass it

I received most of my new fuel system.
It should be safe for around 600 HP.
The weakest link being the Bosch 044 fuel pump.
The only thing not in the picture is the AEM big bore fuel rail.
