Name the (non-VW) part?
Weekend trivia: name the car this part belong to? And WHY would a set of replica parts like these go for US$ 180 on e-Bay?

Re: Name the (non-VW) part?
That is correct, VWCrazy! It is replicas of the so-called 'bowling ball' hubcaps fitted to the 1982 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird, the model on which the original KITT was based on. Original Pontiac hubcaps are impossible to find, since they got lost/stolen/broken very easily (you can actually see them flying off KITT in some of the earlier stunt scenes in Knight Rider, due to bad choreography )
Ironically, those hubcaps were fitted on top of the so-called 'Turbine' rims, which look pretty well as is on a Trans Am -
Sales pamphlet of an '82 T-top Firebird, for the Knight Rider series they put a custom fibreglass nose on KITT, removed all Pontiac logo's and blanked out the tail lights
