It looks like the roof rusted off.

Unless I'm mistaken the seller is an E Cape exporter.

Did he advertise a price? I would expect to be paid to tow that pile of rust away ...

Yep he is an exporter from PE.

I spoke to him about that bus in March last year and he basically told me he wasn't interested in selling to a SA local. At the time he wanted R5500.00 for it.

The cargo doors look OK; I'd pay for those.

I was after the two front doors and handles. At the time I spoke to Chris and he said he knew Gary and could go and have a look for me. I'd still take the two front doors. Maybe we can split :TIC: it up.

given how rare barn doors are, this jumps out at me as a project. granted getting metal might have been a bitch but Gerson is changing that.

for the cash, it's not that bad... if only i could find a garage to store it in

This is not a Barndoor bus. Barndoor busses do not have overhangs on the front windscreen and the rear engine cover is much larger, therefore called barndoor's. Apparently there were only one barndoor in SA but that has been exported many moons ago.

I know, I was simply saying how rarer the older buses are that this makes to be an interesting project. Anything from the 50's is sexy, barndoors included
