Dyno work I have done on actual engine showed between 25 and 37 kilowats for std engines
43 kw for std engines with SP carbs and nice 4 into 1 exhausts
50 t0 56 kw for 1700 411 engines with only 36 idfs added
55 kw for 1800 (76.4 x 87)
60 kw in a beetle will really wake it up and will be beyond its std brakes.
Add a turbo and a 66x101.6 type four with only larger valves will make 137kw

I live in regret.IMPI wrote: Add a turbo and a 66x101.6 type four with only larger valves will make 137kw
To quote IMPI from an email sent in 2007:
"If I may make a suggestion, build a standard 2.0 Type 4 and add a Gotech or similar. That way, you can add a turbo at a later date and make lots of power..."
If I only had to follow this advice back then, I would have had a monster of a ride

If it's too low, you're too old

That 60kW you get from 1914cc with Engle 110 cam and 041 heads and 2x 36mm IDFs, on the dyno. And yes, it wakes the motor up big time. Mine's in my buggy. And 189NmIMPI wrote:Dyno work I have done on actual engine showed between 25 and 37 kilowats for std engines

R1500-2000, can't remember... I did mine in stages anyway, so it's hard to estimate. I have a price list from flat4racing, but can't find it right now.
