Norman the '68 Notch

Post by beetlefanatic »

So we acquired a new project a few weeks ago and we went to fetch it yesterday.
It's a '68 notch and it needs a lot of TLC. The body is not so badly rusted and is pretty much straight except for a small "brandewyn vlek" on the right front fender. The chassis is a complete write-off and although I have another one it is also in a less than ideal state.
There are a few rust spots on the body and the worst parts are the tailgate and top of the left front fender. The left door also needs a lot of work.

Some pics of the new family member on it's way to the new home.

Some ideas as to what we want to do with it. Please feel free to comment. This project won't jump the que in front of the cabrio and the Syncro, but it's nice to start planning so long. Gives you enough time to change your mind again.

Pine it has the bullet indicators, but I'm not sure about the dash. The car is stripped and everything is in boxes. I started to check today what is there and not. Will post some pics later.

You know my 1st choice has to be the red german looker, with the first pic (gunmetal grey?) and the dark blue close behind :hangloose:

Any of those would look great actually :hangloose:

Will this be a resto (doubt it somehow  ) resto-cal, german looker, full custom ?

Doesn't have a push button dash as it's a '68 - Pushbuttons stopped around '64, IIRC.

Nice project and I like your ideas. We need more Type 3s to be saved
