Terrific! I may be mistaken, but I think I saw Juergen tremble ever so slightly when he saw the Notch. (Well, let's just say he didn't show us the door.) He kept his cool, but I think he was impressed to see such a fine example.

I am very pleased to be on the waiting list. This car deserves the best Grand Slam can do, she proved this again driving the 70km to Strand without so much as a hiccup and at 120-130km/h too, as well as heavy traffic on a hot, hot February day in the Cape. She just purred.

Thank YOU for taking the project on. I hope you will enjoy it as well.

I am not sure if it was the pure beauty of the Notch or the heat that made Juergen shivver

Blitz, now that I have Photobucket under control  I will keep regular pics on the progress as it happens :D

Karma, thanks for the compliment, but... She's not perfect, almost, but not quite, let me make a list of what needs doing and then Jurgen can add to it...

Pan halves need replacing
Chrome needs rechroming
Rear brakes need replacing
Exhaust needs replacing
Cockpit heaters need fixing
Upholstery, incl carpeting needs redoing
Small (from what's visible now) rust removal
Roof lining needs replacing
Wiring needs serious tidying up (indicator flicker relay and brake lights don't work)
Wheels need changing
Handbrake needs repair
Engine needs cleaning and cleaning up
One oil leak (LH rocker cover) needs repair
Bonnet and boot rubbers need replacing

And then there are the general little things, like the speedo cable screeches, the car needs a service, the wiper blades were replaced, but are rubbish, such like. Also the dash has 2 serious cracks in it. :?:

only items on that list that look like trouble are -
Small (from what's visible now) rust removal
and dash?
Have you sourced a replacement dash by any chance?

Should be a walk in the park

Sure, beer and sausage... but don't hold your breath. I'm sure they will find stuff... And anyway, time scale is, as always, as long as a piece of string.
