Built a windscreen frame. Not 100% hapy with the look - may still bring a peak out at the bottom of the centre post & maybe radius the inside corners at the top of the outer ones.

After that a bunch of sanding and polishing - any volunteers?

Barry, absolutely amazing craftmanship! But yes, I agree, the top outside (inner) corners need to be radiused. It will give it a much nicer and smoother look. But the rest of the design can not be faulted :hangloose:

whats the rules in SA with regards to no/removed fenders on a beetle? did you have the car COR'd and licenced before you started the conversion? i know in durbs you can possibly get fined for missing body panels, so i wanted to know if doing so how legal is the car? i would love to build a chopped volksrod in future with no fenders and a chopped roof.

Strict letter of the law requires tyres to be covered.
But then it also requires that you don't kill people, take bribes, buy priated DVD's at traffic lights, dump cigarette butts out of car windows, or exceed the speed limit...
I do know of cars that have gone through RWC test sans fenders and made it. Not in KZN though.

Just run cycle fenders mounted off the back of the hubs if it concerns you. Done right it really doesn't look bad at all. There is not a hotrod on the road in Aus without them and there are some kickass cars coming out of there.
