Sorry to hijack your thread, but it's inline with the topic.

Is there no company in JHB who can safely strip a van from all the crap/paint/filler/paper/chicken wire?

If its just the outside +- R2400, for the complete vehicle including inside and chassis and engine, wheels i.e. everything then its +- R6000.

The outside we can do without removing windows and rubber seals etc as it will not damage glass or rubber, in fact it will remove paint from glass with no marking on the glass

I think i have emailed you guys before and asked if you had a JHB branch

Ok if i had to put the car onto a trailer and come down to CPT how long before it will start to rust after been blasted or do you spray a primer once you done?

Soda blasting up's the Ph of metal so it will last a couple of weeks before any flash rust develops, I also sell Fluid Film, this is an anti-corrosion and lubrication spray/liquid which stops any metal from rusting for up to two years, its none toxic and made from Lanolin, in fact you could strip a van then coat it with FF and leave it outside by the sea for two years with no ill effects, check out my site http://www.fluidcorrosioncontrol.co.za for more info

There's an interesting current thread on metalmeet.com about paint adhesion problems after soda blasting. Seems to be widespread consensus.
Any insights Skipper?

Soda raises the metals Ph which inhibits corrosion for a short while, before you repaint the metal will need a thorough wash down to remove all soda particles, problem then solved

I have 3 roof racks that I want stripped and then powercoated.....2 for a beetle and 1 full length one for a bus. Can you strip them? Do you also know of a powercoater who can handle big stuff in Cape Town area?

Dutch you can take those to Aspect Powder Coating in Strand. Speak to William.
Are you going to galvanise or zinc plate? - powder coating doesn't give corrosion protection.
