Hey G
Are you sure it's brakefluid and not gearbox oil from the RGB? Maybe you just need to tighten the castle nut!

:) Got the problem I think. Struggle the last few "months" it feels. Then decide to phone Dirk in Pta the vw man explain to him the problem and he recomend most of the things I have done already. Then he said I should check the idling jets on the right hand side of the carb all clean. Then he recommend that I should loosen the idling jet by 1/8 of a turn more or less and see if it will idle. Its idling. Problem is wear on the thread and then it turns in to deep and block the hole. I made up a wascher and tighten it so that it wont rattle loose. Idling nice and I can even set he idling speed as it should be. Will check it tomorrow again, just incase.
Pics for Blits
cuboard by the door almost finish need the back, bottom and golden trim around the top(where can I find that?)

Took a few(4) years to gather these things for the 57. When ever I see a place with old spares. I keep a look out for some thing I can use. Best bet will be old car clubs and swop meets.
