Tried drilling out type 4 engine fan bolts so that i can remove the bloody fan housing to clean all the rubbish in there. Found 3 fan bolts from another type 4 engine. Want to start the engine some time next week, so would like to put it all together this weekend :)

looks like everybody has been quite with their projects and no work being done. The last post was Karma walking past his latest.

In between spells of rain I removed my buggies dashbord with the aid of a grinder, finished the holes in the new one, after positioning the steering column and then removed all the old silicon. Hopefully next week I can start moving all the wiring from the old to the new dashboard. Also need to find a clock and ammeter before the weekend.

Took her on a photo shoot and then swore at her viciously when she kept dying on the way home. I think I may need a new earth strap (and hopefully not a new battery).

Last week my son's mate decided he wants a beetle. Unknown to me the beetle was based in PE. So no trouble to these youngsters, they hire a piggy back and take the long drive to purchase this vehicle. Now buying a car from pictures on Gumtree is not really on. So I asked Chris to go have a look see. But its to late the car was on its way back to Cape Town. 20 hours after leaving Cape Town the boys are back with a new beetle in my drive way. This weekend was an engine overhaul was done by these youngsters. This is the second motor they have re done. It was'nt so bad this time as the only thing they found wrong was a hole in a J pipe and no rubber seals on the push rod tubes. You can imagine the amount of oil leaks this car had. Anyway its back on the road and all is well.

Hi all,
I am still in the process of getting all the parts for my trike.
1)Kit has been delivered.
2)Sourced a gearbox in Richards bay,will be@my home on the 24th
3)Managed to obtain a running 2L kombi engine in Kokstad free of charge, waiting for delivery.
4)Found the exact size/make of motorcycle front rim in PE,the brake caliper bracket with brake caliper,handbrake/throttle/clutch cable to fit trike kit, waiting for delivery on the end of the month.
5)Managed to source 225x60x15 tyres(difficult size to obtain)

What did I do today?
Today I cleaned the 2x magwheels for the rears.

Need to do following soon:
Clean and check condition of the motor.
Clean and paint the gearbox.
Obtain a exhaust system for the 2l motor.
Obtain a starter motor
Paint frame and start to assemble Trike

Thats my list for now.

Fitted revcounter, oil temp, oil press and voltmeter to Ugly Betty's dash. Need to still install the temp and press senders. Found the problem with my intermittent indicator problem.. The whole hazard switch came apart and I had to put it back together again. All working fine again. Today I fitted Brazilian bay side mirrors. They look great and give a much better view than the originals.
