Hey guys,

Just a quick one, looking for a bonnet catch for my '64, not the one on the bonnet but the one one the apron.

It seems like my one on the car does not want hold the bonnet down?

Anybody have one for me?

Fuse box is installed but still having problems with the brake lights, put a new switch in and seems to be the wiring, took it back to the autoelectrician and now seems to charge under rate, what could cause it to charge at 11.45 volts, help please, I am very disheartened with this at the moment!

Rip out the wiring and start afresh. You've mentioned that you had an alarm in there? My fastback had an alarm installed and it really fcuked up all the wiring. I decided to remove all the hacks and start anew. The wiring in my car was done very unsafely in certain areas, i could have just patched it all up and ran the car as is, but because i'm going to keep the car for a while and use it, i will have everything fixed correctly. You can keep on trying to diagnose and patch up the wiring when problems occur, but you'd rather renew it all for peace of mind. Spend the money now and prevent unecessary headaches later on...

Excellent job!!! That was the original idea when I bought my half bred 1970 / 1973 bug (Half of both). My car is not even close to the perfect Herbie but the poeple absolutely loves my car. As far as I drive I get "Hello Herbie", double thumbs up, waves, smile and requests of people wanting to take photos with the car. I like the fact thet you sprayed the stripes on...mine is stickers and is wearing off fast.

Here is a photo of mine...

I see you had a Herbie b-day...sort of comes with the territory doesn't it. My little boy (now almost 7) turned 5 and we made him this cake

What we wont do for our kids...Best of luck with your Herbie. I now know three Herbies on the forum. The other one belongs to Chris in Lichtenburg. He has 20 something beetles ranging from splits to S Beetles (curved windows). Quite interesting to visit him. I spoke to him on Saturday when we visited IMPI. I believe Chris is also a member of this forum...

Thanks Herbie,

Glad to see more of the passion for the star car! I like the cake you guys did, looks great! I am sure you get quite a lot of attention with Herbs, the little bit we have had our car, we also seem to get hooted at and waved at a lot!

Cheers

Neil
