Started her up again, drove round the yard.
Took a little video of how easy the engine starts and posted it.
Took some more pics of the headliner to plan the restore.

Re: What did you do on your car today?
Removed all the spiral plastic wrap from the wiring under the rear seat... Started modifying a late beetle steering column tube, have to cut off the bracket that mounts the tube to the dash and weld on a different position so that it's compatible to the type 3 dash...

Re: What did you do on your car today?
On Sunday 5th I replaced both tappet cover gaskets.
Replaced sparkplugs, condensor, points, oil.
Modified the the oil breather pipe, it was a bit kinked.
Replaced the brake light switch on the master cylinder.
Washed the engine with a degreaser.
wanted wash and wax the bug, but still had to mow the lawn....my dog had dissapeared into that jungle and had to find him. so...next weekend then.

Re: What did you do on your car today?
Spent the last half hour sitting in the dark and cold, figuring why my bug cut out 4 times in peak hour traffic, whilst detailing the carb discovered that the choke spring wasnt connected, suspect it courtesy of a a certain carb rebuilding company when i had it overhauled. So opened it up reattached it positioned it to the choke marks. Maybe this will put pay to my hot starting problems.
