Thanks for the info.

I contacted Karl and he also has reservations about chrome plating the rim. He does offer an alternative process however that gives the same luster as polished aluminium.

I'll follow that up and give feedback

I picked up the dash pad from Postnet - Thanks Chris.

It is in excellent condition.

Slowly, the parts are coming together and I think it will definiteley look better than the standard dash

Yesterday we got the front suspension.

It was salvaged from a farm in Mpumalanga. Its not pretty, but it is free. Seeing as it needs to be completely rebuilt in any case the condition does not matter much as long as it is complete.

One of the spindles did not have a hub to protect it, hence the rust.

A friend of mine has just (this week) aquired an ultra sonic cleaning bath. We want to test the efficiency of his toys on the suspension. I'll post results under a new thread

Plans call for torsion bar adjusters, new king and link pins, tie rod ends, Urethane bushes, uprated anti roll bar, disc brakes with wide 5 adaptors, braided brake lines, a rebuilt steering box and Monroe gas shocks and steering damper

That is on my "dream tools" list. An Ultra Sonic Cleaner. But a decent size one for my needs will set me back a MINIMUM of £4000-00.

No need to fret. I went to have a look at the unit my firend is buying: 120liter capacity for R100K. That is a :bn: load of money. Final decision will be made by Friday.

Damn! That IS a load of money. One day when I win the lottery, I will have one of those tools!!!!
