Bugger, you mentioned some time back that you have used Golf rodbolts to replace the standard 2,1 stretch bolts.

What about using them in a Type 4? Just for some extra insurance?

$122.75 + $55.00 for shipping and then there's duty and tax eish.  Just hope there the right ones......

Will let you know once they arrive.

I believe you've got there correct ones - that's according to the STF forum. But I think you meant 104-6006?

Hi Guys, long time!

Sorry for the lack of Post & Pics, will rectify that soon!

After a hell of a long wait for the ARP bolts from the good old USA and then another long wait at the machinist, I have finally got my rods back from the machinist. Looking good, all re sized with their new ARP bolts. whilst I was at it I had them notched as well. I will have to re balance them, but that will be easy enough.

:zhelp: A little help please. Does anyone know where I can buy "Plastigage"? I want to do a big end clearance check on my next mock up (looking for Plastigage green 0.001 - 0.003) a quick easy job, never imagined I would battle to find Plastigage!

Cheers,

Hi Tony Z,

If I can,t find any locally I will order some from Summit Racing in the states, its quite cheap at +- $3 per 12" strip or I might order a "5 pack" of 3 different sizes only +- $8.

If anyone wants any let me know as I will proberbly order over the weekend and would be happy to include extra (share the postage!)

Cheers,

not for me thanks, I have enough for about 4 more engines. Thanks for the offer tho.

Have you tried suburban motor spares, they have a few branches in CPT. Maybe also Masterparts. Might be worth a try, maybe they do have now

Good news,

Think I may have found a local (JHB) performance motor car supplier who has Plastigage in stock, I will see them on Tuesday or Wednesday and let you know.

whoopee,

I picked up 2 packs of "Platigage" green from "RS Performance" here in Johannesburg this morning, at R28.00 per pack. Good price and they had in stock.
