ID this headlight please...

Picked it up in a scrapyard recently.

Someone marked VW Kombi on it, but it is definately not from a VW bus.

Besides the obvious differences, it's too small for a splittie, and isn't for a Bay' either.

Hubcap has told me that it, along with a taillight I took, are from a DKW but that this headlight ring is NOT DKW...so wtF is it then?

Thanks, N.

It might be a T34 main head light, but I can't be sure, does it say Hella anywhere on it?

It does indeed, Ron. :)

It is visible on the photo I posted, bug only just. I'll take a larger-res' shot tonight if you'd like?

Yeah, OK. Te T34 has a strange headlight arrangement with a chrome inner ring and outer ring, but they are more squarish than the ones in the photo, makes my wonder if it's a T14 headlight. I don't know the T14 well enough to tell.

I'll check out the rings and housing tonight...

The outer ring is definately not chrome. If it was, it's been completely removed. This looks like it might have been polished aluminium when it began it's life.

I had my KG for a very short while, but I don't recall it having the indent in the ring.

Here's a closer pic of the ring...

Anyone have a close-up pic of the above model of MB? Looks like a possibility, Blitz'.

Thanks.

Here's a thought for you - if there is only ONE headlight, then...

...it can only be off a motorcycle, you fools!

Hi JMVV,

I neglected to mention that Hubcap had already mentioned that the taillight might be from a DKW Junior. I'll take your answer as confirmation of that. ;)

Thanks.

Think you are right----
its a bile headlamp --- look how shallow it is --- cars generally have deeper reflectors because the buckets are deeper than bike headlamp shells

Those tail lights are definitely DEEAKAAAWEEE junior bits

The headlights on this BMW 700 has the about the same curvature. I suspect that the light is off a 50's small european car like a LLoyd or a Horsch or BMW Isetta

Thanks guys,

I'll take them with to the next PR swopmeet and see if I can sell 'em.

They cost me a rather ugly penny, and were purchased only to save them from certain death, so I hope I find buyers for 'em.

Cheers, N.
