Yes, my faith in SAPS has taken a major beating lately, so I'm glad there's at least one point in their credits column now.

Until we see the car we don't know if there's any damage. The least I'm expecting is the steering wheel was cut to remove the lock. And, as my daughter said, it was recovered in Bellville, so maybe she'll get it back with new mags and sound system ...

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

My daughter's car stolen; RECOVERED!!!

Post by Klaus »

Some goods news !

Hope it comes back with a nice stereo for your daughters troubles. Happened years ago to a friends car. They stole his CLI 16v jetta and it came back with a whole load of extras including a massive ICE system and lowering.... Just what a college chap needed at the time.:)

My daughter and her mom collected the car from the Bellville pound this morning.

At first pass there's not too much damage, just broken locks and general filth, not to mention fingerpint powder everywhere. One concern is the engine seems to have a new whine, probably from being driven too hard. Hopefully nothing serious.

The cops say they found it abandoned in Milnerton. It seems the only reason we got it back is because my ex forgot to refuel before she parked the car on the evening it was taken, and the thieves ran out of petrol and bailed out.

One other thing is the thieves had tried unsuccessfully to scrape off the KKKult sticker in the rear window, so KKKult stickers can be seen as theft prevention! Also, the warrant officer who checked the car out of the pound recognised the KKKult sticker as his neighbour has one on his car. KKKult is getting out there! :hangloose:
