Hi all
I picked this up this weekend. Got it for a steal, you wont believe. R1500.00
It has a front disc conversion (golf 2), new recon gearbox and the wheels. License disc up to Feb 2014. No engine.
I don't plan to restore this to original state. I'm going to keep the bumpers off, smooth it out in front and back. 2 tone paint, black bottom and silver/gunmetal on top. Will decide on engine last.
The pan is badly rusted so is the body on the side and at the bottom of the doors. I'm sure I will find more rust once the panels are removed too.
Gonna need rubbers, one back side window, back seat, carpet kit, new indicator lenses all round, new lights, find an idea for the dash because the bottom metal part of it was cut off. Not sure why.

Awesome! Will phone you a bit closer towards month end.
I'm going to need a lot of input and advice on this one. I come from a generation that grew up with computers and tv games. I'm 29. So i expect to learn a lot from this process.
Previous owner wanted to put it on oval track... I think its in too good a state to bang up.

You may not have IRS but you do have a late gearbox.

Re: Rusty 67 Type 3 Fastback
Stripped the car a bit yesterday, front fenders and hood are off. Looks a bit better underneath than I thought. We will see until i take the paint off. Maybe there is filler or fiberglass under the paint. The PO didnt use rust stop, so the rust is still under the patched pieces, under the paint.
