Our First Baywindow Bus

Post by NTO »

Hi guys,

Been looking for quite sometime now and finally stumbled upon her. We collected her last week Friday and was super excited to finally have her home. Shes a 74 Baywindow, apparently a one owner bus. Here are a few photos from the day that we collected her.

Shes complete, not missing anything that i know of except for the rear door inner panel. Has all her seats, door panels and wheel caps. We have since then stripepd out the seats and threw out the old carpets, scrubbed, and cleaned the floors, door panels and seats. Cut new boards for the front and rear door.

Will upload more when i get some time.

Thanks for looking.
Robin :D

Congrats, I am glad to see that my add paid off.

Hope you have many happy travels and accumulate a lifetime's worth of memories with the bus.

The most important thing needed before a long trip is to replace the engine seal to prevent overheating.

Hi jmvv, Thanks soo much!!!

Yes, your the reason with have our bus today, without your add we would have still been looking for our bus.

The oil seal that you are referring to is that the slight leak that the bus has?

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

You will notice a gap between the engine tin (black bit) and the body structure (lighter bit) in the picture.

A dedicated rubber seal goes in there to prevent hot air from the bottom of the engine being sucked back into the cooling fan, thus reducing cooling efficiency.
