55 and 58 beetles

Post by sluggy »

Hi,

I own a couple of cars - the 55 Ive had for about 10 years, it has had a 2180, 2110, 2276 and a 2442 and soon to be 2165 in it. Gearbox wise - a stock SSC with a ZF, a berg 5 speed (for a short time) and a SSC close ratio with a quaiffe in it. Run a best of 12.43 @106mph, was making an honest 200 Hp with the 2442 before it melted down (cam and oiling issues). 2165 is a work in progress, and the car is for sale...

The 58 is en route from the UK, it is just a roller but might be recognised by some of you as its been in a few magazines. This is getting a bus box and a 2724 turbocharged Pauter block in it. Looking for Street legal and 9 second 1/4 miles, although 10s will be a great start !!

Tony Z - Funny you should post that car. That is a car built by Marty Staggs in the US, he is who I bought the Pauter engine off and he is doing all the exhaust/induction fabricating, but no that isnt the car although it is the same colour !. The blue car is en route. more pics by original owners is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/vintageair ... 485530646/

It's the new Great Trek. Just don't let them swap their glass beads for your gold or do any land deals. If that happens they will get up to all sorts of terrible racist stuff like building roads and rail and industrial infrastructure. They might even cause your economy to grow as fast as any other leading nation out there. I think it's the damned Dutch blood. Those Dutchmen are always bulding things. When the rest of the world was invading the neighbours for more land, the Dutch just built further into the sea. Bliksems... almost makes me wish I was part Dutch. Almost.
