Where is the Roadhog?

Post by Pine »

'The following story featured in a recent Afrikaans mag "Weg" of May 2020. I share some of the info on the article. A BUS project to enjoy holiday at the coast, by a father and son with the surname of Faul in the 1970`s from Prieska. The Roadhog consisted of 6 Kombi`s on a 5 ton Thames Trader truck chassis. Length 9 meter, width 2,6 m and height 2 m, fitted with a 1956 FORD F 100 straight six cylinder engine and a 114 liter fuel tank. The Roadhog was built in the backyard of the family and took 3 years to complete at a cost of R 3800 at the time. The family used it to Port Alfred for their annual sea vacations. The father passed on and it was sold as the son, by then an apprentice on the SA Railways earned R 60 a month and could not afford to buy it from his mother. Years passed, and now the son wants to know the whereabouts of the Roadhog. If anyone knows email Mr Faul Jnr at 27825741552@vodamail.co.za. Acknowledgement of source: WEG 5/2020.'
