Air cooled Club in KZN

Post by Justin Miller »

Hi All,

It has come to my attention that there is not a club in Natal for air cooled owners. I am looking to start one and i was just wondering how many people on the sunny east coast are keen on this. I want to do an informal gathering at cars in the park in Pietermaritzburg this May just to get an idea of how many people would be interested in joining.

if anyone who runs a club has any advise for me on how to get things rolling it would be greatfully received!

Thanks all

As per convo this morning, I would be keen to be an active part of this. Andyrtmorgan is just down the hill from us at Hillcrest (Andy, I won't give the gps coordinates as that lowlight of yours is a gem), and I know there was a fellow from the northern side of Pmb who joined this forum last year. Lowlight, where are you my bravah, busy I guess as I hardly see you these days here.

I know that there are a number of a/c I see daily on our roads, all colours and types. One two guys roll in some nice ones in Howick too.

Looking at gumtree, there are stax of aircooled in the Durbs area, so maybe some guys from there too will be keen.

Well, check you later for a catch-up.

Hey guys! long time no speak. sorry i have not been around for a while but i just got married a few weeks ago and everything was hectic this side! no time for anything else.

I have started a facebok interest page for the time being, hopefully that could get things started, maybe organise some kind of get together in the near future. Next year we can hopefully get a dedicated stand in cars in the park so we all dont have to be scattered around the entire site! please join the group 'Volksie Folks KZN'

Would be great to chat!

I would say that by the number of hits on the topic it must be something that a lot of people are interested in.
Why don't you try and put something small or interesting together and see what happens?
Don't expect much and don't spend too much time or money on it.....; this is Durban.
I play some guitar and sing and I can tell you that something as small as bad weather can completely destroy the turnout at an event.
Dad and I are keen but we're very busy with school, sport, music and trying to get my bus going.
Let us know what's happening and if we can support we will.

Thanx

HI GUYS.

NOT REALLY AN UPDATE BUT PERHAPS INTERESTING AND/OR NOTEWORTHY.

I HAVE STARTED AN INFORMAL/SOCIAL AIRCOOLED CLUB HERE IN DURBAN.
I HAVE CALLED IT THE 'DURBAN KOMBI CLUB'.
WE HAD OUR FIRST OUTING OVER THE EASTER WEEKEND WHICH WAS A CAMPOUT FOR 3 NIGHTS AND 4 DAYS.
ALTHOUGH THE AMMOUNT OF ACTUAL AIRCOOLEDS WAS NEGLIGABLE ( DUE TO VEHICLES NOT BEING READY ) WE HAD THE GUYS IN ATTENDANCE ANYWAY.
WE HAD 34 PEOPLE ATTEND INCLUDING THE KIDDIES.

IT WAS A VERY PLEASANT GETAWAY WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE.
ALL OF US ARE FAMILY ORIENTATED; NO HEAVY DRINKERS OR BRAWLERS AS THAT'S NOT OUR SCENE.
WE ALL ENJOY MUSIC ; CYNDI AND I PLAYED ALL 3 NIGHTS WE WERE AT THE VENUE.
WE ALSO ALL HAVE AN INTEREST IN SURFING, SKATEBOARDING AND SPORT IN GENERAL.

OUR NEXT BIGGISH OUTING IS PLANNED FOR SEPTEMBER WHEN WE WILL BE HEADING OFF TO THE BERG TO ATTEND THE 'WHITE MOUNTAIN MUSIC FESTIVAL'.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AND THINK YOU FIT INTO OUR KIND OF COMPANY YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO GIVE ME A SHOUT AND WE CAN GET YOU AND ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED INVOLVED.
